These are a pair of 19th century British tea tins. They are made of tin and are decorated with Chinese images. The sides and lid were pressed by machine and then japanned. One of them has the japanning intact, while the japanning on the other has worn off showing the tin underneath.
I was very lucky to find them. I found the first one early in 2011 at a very reasonable price, and then a few months later I found the second one. Finding one is pretty exciting, but having a pair is incredible. I am airing them out and will be using them for holding Yan Wulong Teas.
